1. Important summary
- SmartPage subscriptions are normally month-to-month and billed in advance.
- You may request cancellation before the next renewal date.
- Cancellation stops future renewal; it does not normally create a pro-rata refund for an already-started billing period.
- Duplicate charges, processing errors and refunds required by law are handled separately and may qualify for a full or partial refund.
- Custom or setup work is assessed according to whether production has started and how much agreed work has already been completed.
2. Setup and build payments
If you cancel before SmartLink has started production, you may request a full refund of the setup/build amount, less any unavoidable third-party or payment-processing amount that the law permits us to retain. Once production has started, we may retain a reasonable amount for work actually completed and refund the balance. After you approve delivered custom work, the setup/build fee is generally not refundable except for defective service, duplicate/error payments or another remedy required by law.
3. Quotations and custom scope
A custom quotation may contain specific milestones, deposit rules or cancellation terms. Those specific written terms apply together with this policy. We will not begin quoted work until the required acceptance and payment conditions are met.
4. Monthly SmartPage subscriptions
The first successful activation payment starts the subscription and permits publishing when other workflow requirements are complete. Recurring payments are processed on the cycle shown at checkout. The subscription continues until cancelled.
5. How to cancel
Use the SmartPage Subscription Centre in your logged-in SmartLink account to cancel an eligible subscription at the end of its billing period. If the in-product control is unavailable or you need help, send a request from your registered account email to admin@getsmartlink.app and include the account email, SmartPage reference or address, and the service to cancel. Cancellation is effective once confirmed by SmartLink or the payment provider. Submit the request before the next renewal to avoid another charge.
6. Effect of cancellation
Your SmartPage may remain available until the end of the period already paid for, after which it may be paused. We do not immediately delete a cancelled page. Content retention and later deletion are handled under the Privacy Policy and product rules. Reactivation may require payment of the current plan price.
7. Failed or missed payments
If a recurring payment fails, we may retry through the payment provider, notify you, restrict paid features or pause the SmartPage. We will not treat an unconfirmed browser return as proof of payment. A page may be restored once payment is confirmed.
8. Refund eligibility
We will consider a refund where:
- the same transaction was charged more than once;
- the amount charged differs from the accepted checkout amount;
- a payment was processed after a properly completed cancellation that should already have stopped renewal;
- the paid service was not supplied as agreed and we cannot remedy it within a reasonable time;
- the law gives you a cooling-off, cancellation, quality or refund right; or
- we approve a fair partial refund for uncompleted setup work.
9. Non-refundable situations
Subject always to non-waivable consumer rights, refunds are generally not provided merely because you changed your mind after custom work was completed and approved, failed to provide required content, did not use an available service, breached the terms, or allowed a subscription to renew without cancelling in time.
10. Refund method and timing
Approved refunds are normally returned through the original payment method and may be full or partial. We may ask for supporting information. SmartLink will initiate an approved refund as soon as reasonably practical; bank and payment-provider processing times may take additional business days. The refunded amount cannot exceed the original transaction.
11. Chargebacks and disputes
Please contact us first so we can investigate and resolve the issue. A chargeback does not remove an obligation to pay for valid, properly delivered services. We will provide transaction, approval and delivery records to the payment provider where a dispute requires them.
12. Statutory rights
This policy does not limit rights available under South African consumer and electronic-transaction law. Where a statutory right conflicts with this policy, the statutory right prevails.
13. Requesting help
Use our Contact and Complaints page and include the payment reference, amount, date and requested resolution.
